WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE APPOINTMENT
Your child’s first visit will take approximately 30-60 minutes. Our optometrist will take the time to understand your child’s needs and personalise the eye test for their comfort.
During the visit, we will assess your child’s vision and eye coordination, including a behavioural optometry assessment to evaluate eye focusing, teaming, tracking and visual perception. We assess eye health using the latest diagnostic technology, such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Digital Retinal Imaging. If additional tests are necessary (e.g. a cycloplegic/dilated eye exam), we will discuss these with you, including any associated costs. These tests may be arranged for a follow-up visit.
If your child requires spectacles, they can select from our extensive range of frames guided by our friendly optical dispensers.
Why is a dilated eye exam recommended?
A dilated eye exam allows for a more thorough evaluation of your child’s eye health and prescription accuracy. Following the exam, your child may experience temporary blurred vision and increased sensitivity to light. To minimise any inconvenience, we recommend scheduling this test after school or at a time when your child can relax for the rest of the day.
APPOINTMENT POLICY
Late Arrivals: We understand that delays can happen, but please be aware that arriving late may require us to reschedule your appointment to ensure adequate time for all patients.
Cancellation Policy: If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Multiple cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee.

Typically, the appointment lasts between 30-60 minutes. If additional tests are necessary, they may be performed on the day or scheduled for a later visit.
The eye test includes a thorough examination customised to your child’s needs. We will assess their vision, eye health, and coordination. Any recommended treatments or advice will be explained during the visit.
